THE RACKET

We're a blues-based classic rock cover band with a dose of Americana thrown in. Anything we hear that sticks with us, whatever the reason and wherever the source. Good is good.

We're not a jam band, per se, but we’re a band that loves a good jam. We're always game to go off-script when the song or crowd wants things to head that way.

Tom Petty, REM, Big Head Todd, Grateful Dead, Counting Crows, Cracker, Clapton, JJ Cale, Marshall Tucker Band, Keb Mo, Albert King, Eagles, Neil Young, Caamp, Warren Zevon, Band Of Heathens, Revivalists, Nathaniel Rateliff And The Night Sweats, and more.

What you'd hear on Chicago's WXRT from its founding in August, '72 through to today. Never just the hits, but also deeper cuts where folks say "I LOVE this song! I totally forgot about it!"

The Racket puts on 2 hour+ shows with great crowd participation. Catch us live -- places we've played include Double Clutch Brewery, Post 42, 28 Mile, House Of Blues (private event), Mom's Place, and our home base - The Legendary Wooden Nickel.
